What are working days?
Working days are days on which people normally work. In the Netherlands, these are generally:
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Thursday
- Friday
Saturdays and Sundays are not counted as working days. Depending on the settings, public holidays can also be excluded.
Why calculate working days?
Calculating working days is useful in many situations:
- project planning
- delivery time calculations
- leave and holiday planning
- contractual deadlines
- invoicing and deadlines
By counting only working days, you get a more realistic overview than with a simple date calculation.
Taking public holidays into account
In the Netherlands, some public holidays fall on weekdays. When you count these as non-working days, the number of working days may decrease. This tool can automatically take official Dutch public holidays into account.
Examples of public holidays that often have an impact:
- Easter
- Ascension Day
- Whit Monday
- Christmas
